Will the gas plant be noisy or smelly?

Ironstone Energy have stated that there will be limited odour similar to that of silage. Given the vast size of the silage clamps which cover approximately 1/3 of the site area, the smell of silage is likely to be strong and affect a wide area - not just those working in nearby businesses.

Ironstone Energy also claim that there will be no noise. Given that there will be HGV traffic arriving and leaving the gas plant 12 hours a day, this alone will generate significant amounts of noise at the plant as well as on country lanes.

Whilst the process of digestion within the tanks may be quiet, day to day activities at the site itself are likely to generate significant amounts of noise though we are yet to be provided with any detailed information about this.
