How big will the industrial biogas plant be?
The proposed site, currently an arable field, is about 6 hectares.
6 hectares is approximately 15 acres, which is bigger than the 11 acre estate of 70 houses currently being built in Colsterworth.
This doesn’t include the proposed access roads and tracks across existing fields that will serve the AD plant.
Ironstone’s planning proposal is for an area as big as an estate of 90 houses, with all of their associated infrastructure: roads, parking, gardens and so on.
Or the equivalent of over 9 full size football pitches!
The tallest structures proposed are 19m (62ft) tall - this is taller than an average 6 storey block of flats.
